Tyrese Maxey, NBA Twitter React to Joel Embiid's Extension with Sixers

The Philadelphia 76ers and franchise cornerstone Joel Embiid have agreed to a four-year, $196 million contract extension, the team announced Thursday.

Embiid, 28, is coming off a season in which he averaged 30.6 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game while leading the Sixers to the Eastern Conference semifinals.

He has been named an All-Star four times and was the NBA scoring champion in 2022.

The extension will keep Embiid in Philadelphia through the 2026-27 season.
