Effective Tuesday, Gregg will no longer hold position

Gregg stepping down to become President and CEO of the Greater Des Moines Partnership

Lt. Gov. Adam Gregg announced Monday that he will be resigning from his position, effective Tuesday, to become the President and CEO of the Greater Des Moines Partnership.

Gregg, a Republican, has served as Lt. Gov. since 2019. He was elected alongside Gov. Kim Reynolds.

In a statement, Gregg said that he is "honored to have served the people of Iowa" and that he is "excited to take on this new challenge."

Reynolds said in a statement that she is "grateful" for Gregg's service and that she wishes him well in his new role.

The Greater Des Moines Partnership is a non-profit organization that works to promote economic development in the Des Moines area.

Gregg is a graduate of the University of Iowa and the University of Iowa College of Law. He is a former member of the Iowa House of Representatives and the Iowa Senate.

Gregg is married and has two children.
