Scottish goalkeeper collides with Hungarian striker during Euro 2024 match

Budapest, Hungary - Hungary forward Barnabás Varga is in stable condition in hospital after suffering a serious-looking injury during Hungary's 1-0 win over Scotland in a Euro 2024 group match on Sunday.

Varga went down in the second half after an apparent clash with Scotland goalkeeper Craig Gordon. The incident left Varga lying motionless on the ground, and he was stretchered off the pitch and taken to the hospital.

Hungary's medical staff confirmed that Varga has suffered a fractured cheekbone and a suspected concussion. He is currently undergoing further medical tests to determine the full extent of his injuries.

The incident occurred in the 65th minute of the match, with Hungary leading 1-0. The game was briefly paused as medics attended to Varga and stretchered him off the pitch.

Hungary went on to win the match 1-0, which officially knocked Scotland out of Euro 2024. However, the victory was marred by the serious injury to Varga, who is one of Hungary's key players.
